Basically Pensacola and New Orleans are pre-war construction, while Cleveland and Baltimore are war-built. They're the end of their design branch, and, of course they were 'treaty cruisers', and what restrictions and tradeoffs that entails. That's why Pensacola and New Orleans seem strange in comparison to Baltimore. They're both based off the Brooklyn hull. Well, on a 'real ship' basis, it's based off the same hull as the Cleveland is. Looks like after the split the T8 CL and CA will be very similar.Īnyone else feel like Baltimore reverts back to the Cleveland feel and playstyle that went away with Pensacola and New Orleans? I feel like I just did a 180. Another Baltimore player and I sort of teamed for the match and the enemy planes never got close. Guns even feel like it (ie floaty shells). Just played my 1st game in Baltimore and not only does the ship look like the Cleveland but it plays like it. I have Cleveland through Baltimore now, bought the Omaha again to grind out XP to have on hand for the T6 CL Dallas if we have to buy it, and have all the current perma camos T6-T9 so I am ready for the split. New Orleans is a good ship too but man it feels like the grind from T7-T9 is in the same ship as Pepsi and NO are so similar. I actually like Pensacola better even if it is more fragile (although I find Cleveland kind of fragile too). I don't think Cleveland is all that great. I am nervously anxious about what the new year brings in changes.įor the time being, I'm enjoying the heck out of kicking around the Pensacola. Those two were ones that I gladly shelled out cash for permanent camo.įor me, that line is complete since I repurchased the Pensacola (and 2K doubs = premium camo). Even at tier 9, the Baltimore ground by too quickly. At tier 8, it will be at the mercy of tier 10 boats where it will be vaporized with a single salvo - no matter how it's angled. Plainly spoken, Cleveland is an OP TANK at tier 6. If someone simply free-XP'd their way to the Baltimore, they'd be more lost than if had ground out the Cleveland into the Pensacola. The things I learned from fighting (and getting erased) at tier 10 really helped my skill with that dreaded bucket. Baltimore has heal, and some pretty nice Gneisenau citadeling AP (at the right gun range).
